FIRST WEEKEND OF SEPTEMBER
It was a lovely day for a picnic.
It was beautiful out— nearly a perfect Saturday morning. The fading dew glistened on the trees and grass around her. Everything was so immaculate it was almost painful to look at. The persistent fog had lifted, and the sun shone brightly in the distance. Gabrielle sat cross-legged on a blanket spread out over the still-wet grass. Red checks on white, of course. A black cat purred contentedly beside her as she carefully unpacked the picnic basket— buttered bread, cream cheese, and fresh strawberries.
Gabrielle laughed amusedly as she noticed the little feline creeping towards her food. ”No Shadow, you can’t have any of these.” She pursed her lips and shook her head. The cat meowed back in reply and gave her a dirty look, as if she was insulted. ”Oh don’t you dare give me that look little missy! You’ll get your usual treat if you behave.” Gabby said as she rolls her eyes, and popped a strawberry into her mouth. The feline let out another disapproving meow before jumping off the blanket, and stalked off into who knows where. For a cat, Shadow can be such a drama queen. “Seriously? I know you’ll come back eventually!” Gabrielle called after the furball with an annoyed huff, not really sure what else to do.
Saturday probably Rowan’s least favorite day. For most people, it was the most awaited day because it the day after the last day for classes but there’s still Sunday to relax. Rowan disliked not doing something. Okay, he was probably not the most adventurous person, however, he liked to move around, gathering information to satisfied his thirst of knowledges. His little sister called it him being nosy and prying his nose to somewhere it didn’t belong.
So, as he had read all the books he brought with him, and there was a lot of text-books, Rowan had decided it’s time to explored his home for the next ten months or so. The school was magical, just as what you expect from one of the best magic schools. Honestly, he thought that his father was somewhat bias because he also graduated from this school. Putting that opinion aside, it was a beautiful building and he wondered how this place operated. What charm they used? Is there any forbidden area that he should not be prying.
Deep in his thoughts, though honestly how he had yet to bump or crash or trip or fell down the stairs as he moved was a mystery.
“Meow.”
Rowan looked down at the feline who suddenly making his, her? appearance and wondered. “I feel I’m being stalk by Mrs. Norbert’s cat.” mentioning the old lady who tend to yelled at him back home. She was also had 10 cats and counting. He took the cat with him, and walk through the enchanted garden, looking left and right to see the owner of this cat. “I don’t supposed to will tell me where is your owner?” Not realizing, he was probably not too far from the said person.
