Patronus: “I thought hippogriffs were kind of scary at first. I mean, come on— that creature had the front legs, wings, and head of a giant eagle and the body, hind legs and tail of a horse. I was quite young when we had a rescue brought to the sanctuary. After a lot of convincing my father let me ride it, and it was by far the best day of my life.”
Mirror of Erised: “When I grow up, I want to continue the family business and become a magizoologist like my parents.”
Boggart: “My mother told me that inferi were corpses, dead bodies that were bewitched to do Dark Wizard’s bidding. I used to have nightmares about them waiting underneath my bed to grab me in my sleep.”
History
The Coltwood Wildlife Sanctuary was founded in 1632, and is still owned by the same family. The 100-acre farm has been passed down through eleven generations since Muggle Alexander Coltwood arrived in the New World bearing a land grant from King Charles II of England. While sailing from England to what would be later known as America, he met Elizabeth Hawthorne, who was sent by the Ministry of Magic to document any magical creatures found in the New World.
As time passed, the two fell in love and got married. They eventually settled in what would later be known as Woodstock, Vermont. Alexander, who wasn’t phased after finding out his wife was a witch, was convinced by Elizabeth to build a sanctuary for magical creatures.

William and Olivia had one daughter, Gabrielle Coltwood. Growing up in a wildlife sanctuary, she was given everything; love, affection, attention and anything she could possibly want. Gabby’s life pretty much revolves around her family’s business and parents’ choice of career, who were both magizoologists. So it wasn’t a surprise when she developed a passion for taking care of magical creatures from a very young age. After all, The Coltwood Wildlife Sanctuary were known for nursing injured and orphaned magical creatures before sending them back to the wild.
