- RISE -
"Together, we’re gonna rise with the morning light."
Reylyn clasped the handle of her picnic basket tightly in her hands.
It was a rare afternoon that she could manage to get away from the office and out to some more natural scenery and god did it do her wonders. She couldn't remember the last time that she had gotten out of the office and away from all the legal aspects of her life. It was even more seldom that she could find a moment away without her son or a colleague. Not to say she didn't love her son, the contrary in fact because he was entirely and completely her whole world and she would do anything for him no matter the cost. But, there were times, like now, that she needed to feel the breeze on her face and smell the water and enjoy it alone, or with someone not connected to her job directly.
There were things going on that she couldn't speak about with anyone and to a degree that would be a welcomed relief, to have a friend or another person to chat with about normal life things. Or spell combos she was working on honing her skills on. After all, despite a grand and formal education, there was always something new to learn or master and that was where she was at in all of this, learning and mastering additional skills to be prepared for when life inevitably changed. It was never a matter of if, it was a matter of when, her own life experiences had taught her that time and again through the years. She just wished she knew more about what might be coming and how she could protect her son. But, like many, it was just that chill that started in the bones that whispered it had been awhile since any real trouble brewed so obviously, very obviously that fragile balance of peace would break. She had no proof, not really, just worries.
She settled on the picnic blanket she brought with her and set out all the items to eat lunch. She wasn't sure how long until she was summoned back to her desk, so she was going to enjoy the afternoon while she could.
Middle of SEPTEMBER, mid-day, mostly sunny weather. (OPEN to ANYONE)

It had been a long summer and Juliet was pretty excited that the new school year was going to be starting. Over the summer, she went to France for a few weeks to see her parents. Axel usually stayed with them over the summer, so the main reason for her visit was to pick him up, but as soon as they came back, the first thing was that he wanted to go to the beach. They had gone for a week straight for a few hours every day. It was exhausting.
Now, it was the middle of September and she was glad for the fall weather to be rolling around and for her getting back to work. Salem was a place for her to relax and wanting to be around the students again. The first thing she wanted to do was to visit Little Darvey. The atmosphere there seemed to remind her of home a bit… even though she returned from France a few weeks ago.
As she was making her way down to find a spot to sit as she would read her book, Juliet thought she had seen a familiar face. As she got closer, she knew that it was Reylyn. Smiling, she made her way to the woman. Reylyn was the Chief of law enforcement here on the island. She always seemed friendly toward Juliet. After moving here from Hogwarts, Juliet had to make new friends. "Bonjour, Reylynb! Juliet said. "How are you doing today? May I join you?" Saying in her French accent. Jules had a smile on her face.

"Together, we’re gonna rise with the morning light."
"Oh!" Reylyn exclaimed when she saw the blond-haired French woman. "Bonjour mon amie!" Reylyn wasn't the most fluent in French, but she knew enough to get her by. "Please, the company would be appreciated." Reylyn patted the spot that was free on her picnic blanket. She was familiar with the woman, Juliet, from the school. She hadn't had many dealings with some of the people around the school and island, well, she had had dealings, but deep friendships had been far and few between. Reylyn let a smile slip through.
"What brings you out today? The lovely weather?" Reylyn had to remind herself that she couldn't ask a million questions, a trait she was prone to because of the line of work she was in, asking questions was kinda what kept people safe and her job hopping because there was always something to find out when it came to reading people or situations or trying to keep the island and school safe from threats. Reylyn opened her basket up and gestured. "I have extra food, stuff for a sandwich, fruits, veggies..." she wanted to be hospitable.

Juliet's face brightened up when Reylyn answered back in French, "Votre francais est excellent!"Your French is excellent! Jules wasn’t sure if she would be able to understand, but she didn’t mind. Not a lot of people speak French who she has met. Her ex husband tried, but he wasn’t very good at it.
Sitting down next to Reylyn, Juliet listened to her questions and stating that she had extra food. Jules smiled, "Oh thank you!" As she was making her sandwich, Juliet answered her questions. "I had to get a few things before the school year starts. Plus, Axel needs new shoes. I swear, he grows out of them or he gets holes in them." The Beaubaxton's alum laughed. Axel is 9 years old. "He is at the house with the babysitter at the moment. His trip from France wore the poor kid out."
Juliet took a bite out of her sandwich. It was really good. Maybe she would have to pick up some groceries to make some sandwiches for her and Axel. When she swallowed her food, she decided to ask a few questions as well. "How about you? Felt like making a little picnic?"
