The Bear Den, as some call it, can be reached through storage room four in the basement right next to the kitchens. A portrait of Ursa House founder Callista Caseopia Calloria hangs on the wall and only moves to allow students in her house access.

The Basements are off limits to students except those in the Ursa House. Those students are allowed to go to the entrance of their common room only. Aside from the Ursa common room, the basement also houses the kitchens, rooms for the house elves, and a secret staircase through the cliffs and down to the beach. This staircase is for faculty use only
